A profession of the future, a chance for all

École 19 was created in April 2018. This school of coding works on the same model as École 42 in Paris, which today has an international reputation.

No lessons but learning “peer to peer” by modules. No qualifications are required. The school is open 7 days a week and 24h a day for young people from 18 to 30 years. 15% of undergraduate students do not have their high school diploma and 70% were in search of employment.

This training is free. It is demanding and requires discipline. It can be combined to some extent with work or family life.

The school 19 is very careful to raise awareness among a female audience, through specific events and partnerships such as, among others, Women in Tech, a vulnerable audience, through its partnership with Actiris, Be Code or MolenGeek.

BESIX Foundation wanted to support the implementation of this project because it is developing according to an educational model, which, in Belgium is quite revolutionary.

Our action:

BESIX Foundation has financed the opening of the school and organizes with and at Ecole 19, twice a year, KiddyBuild activities for young people aged 9 to 11 and coming from disadvantaged neighborhoods.
