BESIX is very proud to be part of the Alain Hubert's adventure and the construction of the first "zero emission" station, the first Belgian base in Antartica, both by participating in the structural studies and by sending one of its engineers, Marc Debandt, to oversee the building of the base.

PRINCESS ELISABETH STATION

In 2007, BESIX engineering team tested a first model for the construction of the Princess Elisabeth Station, the first "zero emission" station.
In July, one of our engineers, Marc Debandt, oversaw the pre-assembly of the structure at Tour & Taxi and from January to March 2008, he accompanied the expedition BELARE, led by Alain Hubert, to coordinate the Station's assembly in Antartica.
