HUMASOL

This NPO sends Belgian engineers and engineering students to developing countries, mainly South America, to install environmentally friendly equipment for schools, NGOs,...BESIX Foundation will support the installation of a wind turbine, a solar boiler, a micro hydro system and the setting up of an electricity network for the benefit of the local secondary school in Cascarilla, Peru. Reed More

 

PETITS BOULOTS

Helping underprivileged people take care of themselves and "stand on their own feet". The activities are divided among a dozen services: social services, youth services, help to the homeless, legal support, debt mediation, shop 'Lèzabi ", school assistance,...
Welcoming people in distress but always with the goal of encouraging them to gradually take on the challenges of their lives.
This NPO has set up a new service: refurbishment support for poor families or social organization with the help of retired people or school drop-outs. BESIX Foundation will support them to develop this project and include more technical support such as thermal insulation. Reed More

 

LES GLAIEULS

This NPO provides social education and supportive living environments for 16 children from 6 to 12 years old some of whom are handicapped. BESIX Foundation will support them in installing solar panels to save energy, reduce their monthly costs and be more environmentally friendly.

 

ROOFS IN THE SAHEL

BESIX Foundation supports this NPO that develops construction techniques adapted to local resources in Sub-Saharan Africa. The structures are built of mud bricks and offer an alternative to wood and corrugated iron roofs that deplete local economies and ecosystems.   PRINCESS ELISABETH STATION

In 2007, BESIX engineering team tested a first model for the construction of the Princess Elisabeth Station, the first "zero emission" station.
In July, one of our engineers, Marc Debandt, oversaw the pre-assembly of the structure at Tour & Taxi and from January to March 2008, he accompanied the expedition BELARE, led by Alain Hubert, to coordinate the Station's assembly in Antartica. Reed more
